What is Tapered Roller Bearings?  

Tapered roller bearings are also called rolling element bearings and support axial forces. These are excellent thrust bearings as well as radial forces. The internal and external ring raceways are segments of cones and the rollers are tapered (narrow). It helps the conical surfaces of the raceways and the roller axes to meet at a common point on the main axis of the bearing. This geometry keeps the motion of the cones that remain coaxial and have no motion between the raceways and the external diameter of the rollers. These bearings are typically used in gearboxes, rolling mills, hoisting equipment, and machines in the mining industry.
